Fasting, A Siege Of Mercy |
The best way to solve the problem of sighting the crescent moon is to, after all the Shariah rules and regulations and research and investigation, announce whether or not the moon will appear from one of the central places of the country through such companions whose religion Ordinary Muslims should have faith in piety, and whose voice should be recognized throughout the country, and this declaration should be recognized as valid for the whole country.
In any case, the people of this country do not trust the ulema in religious matters. Let the people in power hate whatever they hate. But in religious matters, the common Muslim still relies on the 'mullah'. It is not possible for anyone to report the news of the new moon on the radio, and to break the fast in the country at their behest.
(Translator of the Qur'an, April 1961) … ٭ Generosity in Ramadan Abdullah ibn Abbas narrates that the method of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was that when Ramadaan came, he would release every captive and give something to every beggar. (Bayhaqi) The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah
be upon him) was known for his compassion, kindness, gentleness, generosity, forgiveness, and generosity on ordinary days. ۔ In those days, since the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was more deeply attracted to Allaah than usual and his love for Allaah was intense, his virtues were far greater than in ordinary days.
As the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) himself said, the reward for performing one's duty on ordinary days is the same as performing the supererogatory prayers in Ramadaan. That is why he used to do many good deeds during Ramadan. Here are two examples of the Prophet's actions. Release the captives and give them to the beggars. Controversy has arisen among the narrators about the action of the Prophet (sws) that he used to release every prisoner in Ramadan. For example, a question arises if a person is imprisoned for a crime, how can it be in accordance with the requirements of justice to release or not punish him just because of the month of Ramadan?
On this basis, various explanations have been given for this view. According to some narrators, this refers to prisoners of war. To some, this may refer to people who are indebted for not being able to pay their debts. (Reality of fasting) … ٭ Fasting and self-control Self-control means that a person's self is in complete control of the body and its powers, and its grip on the desires and emotions of the self is so strong that it is subject to its decisions.
The position of the self in human existence is the same as the position of the ruler in an empire. The body and its organs are the tools of the self. All physical and mental powers are at the service of the self. The status of the nafs is nothing more than offering one's desires to the self as a request. It is up to the self to decide for what purpose to use the tools and powers and to accept and reject some of the requests of the self.
If a self is so weak that in the realm of the body it cannot carry out its rule according to its purpose and for that, the desires of the self have the status of demands and rules, then it is a defeated and helpless self. His likeness is the likeness of a rider who is overcome by his horse. Such weak human beings cannot lead any successful life in the world.
The people who have left their mark in human
history are the ones who have subjugated the forces of their existence, who are
not enslaved to the desires of the self and become the masters of the emotions
but their masters. , Whose intentions have remained strong and determined. (Booklet,
