Mysterious Letter And No-Confidence Motion |
Pakistani politics has been in turmoil and crisis since the opposition filed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The no-confidence
motion is the norm in democratic politics. But because of the unprincipled
politics and the lust for wealth of those who have the power to be elected,
parliamentary politics has become a spectacle. Instead of political
negotiations and arguments in favor of their position, buying and selling consciences, political maneuvering based on interests has made national life
very dark.
In the next few days,
after a vote in the National Assembly, it will be decided whether the
no-confidence motion succeeds or fails. Whatever the decision of the lower
house of parliament, it is clear that in both cases there will be an increase
in political instability which is extremely dangerous for the country both
internally and externally.
The political power
struggle that is fought in the houses in a parliamentary democracy has also
entered the judiciary and the political arena. In the meantime, the decision by
both the government and the opposition to mobilize the people in front of the
parliament had raised fears of a confrontation.
After a no-confidence
motion was filed and political pressure was felt, the government claimed that
conspiracies were being hatched by foreign powers to overthrow their
government. Step up He openly refused to give military bases to the United
States, visiting Russia without heeding American and European pressure.
And refused to be part
of any block. Initially, the statement was seen as part of a political war, but
at a rally in Islamabad on March 27, he waved a letter to the public, claiming
that the letter was evidence of conspiracies against his government. The letter
threatened Pakistan and ordered that Imran Khan's government be changed.
Prime Minister Imran
Khan at the same time offered that those who have doubts are ready to show the
"off the record" letter. The Prime Minister's claim was not accepted
by the opposition and it was defeated as an excuse by a political player. In
response to this claim, there was a serious reaction from former Prime Minister
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
He asked the Prime
Minister to present the threatening letter to the National Security Committee
and Parliament. Which country dared to threaten? In our 74-year history, no
country has ever had such courage. It is not uncommon for someone to threaten nuclear power.
If the Prime Minister
of a country of 230 million Muslims tells us that such and such a person has
threatened us, then the whole country will be with him. The ambassador of the
country which has made the threat should be expelled from the country.
Responding to
objections from the opposition and the media to the threatening letter, two
federal ministers, Asad Umar and Fawad Chaudhry, told the media that some
people objected that the prime minister had not shown them the threatening
letter.
The Prime Minister is
ready to present this letter in the Supreme Court in which it is stated bluntly
that the no-confidence motion was not successful and if Imran Khan remained the
Prime Minister, the consequences would be dangerous. "I am not allowed to
say the words in this letter, but I will repeat the key and important points,
the part which is connected with the no-confidence motion," he said.
Before it happened.
This is important
because the letter directly mentions the no-confidence motion. More
importantly, it states in no uncertain terms that if the no-confidence motion
is not successful and Imran Khan remains the Prime Minister.
So the consequences
will be dangerous, Federal Minister Asad Omar added that the Prime Minister
wants to inform the people. Most people in the opposition do not know who is
behind the no-confidence motion. These people are part of this conspiracy out
of ignorance. Is Prime Minister Imran Khan now trying to hide behind an
external conspiracy, seeing the success of the no-confidence motion and the
overthrow of his government? It needs to be decided.
As far as external
interference in Pakistan's domestic politics is concerned, this is nothing new.
It is also a fact that the democratic electoral system in Pakistan has been
introduced due to American orders. That is why the military has kept politics
under its control.
It is the constant
policy of the ruling party of Pakistan that free-minded political leaders and
leaders could not be born and for this purpose, popular political leaders did
not allow the existence of organized political parties to flourish. All
political leaders are well aware of the reality of US intervention and
dictation in Pakistan's politics. They use this issue only to blame their
opponents.
Under General Pervez
Musharraf, US officials openly interfered in Pakistan's political system. The
infamous "NRO" is the biggest evidence of this intervention. Now, if
Prime Minister Imran Khan has claimed that he has documentary evidence of
conspiracies of foreign interference, he should not be part of the political
debate of mere accusation.
This is a serious
issue, it should be discussed in Parliament as well, but the functioning and
conduct of our elected houses are in question. The real responsibility lies
with Parliament as it has the ultimate supremacy. If our elected leaders to
maintain the supreme power of Pakistan
