While East Pakistan was collapsing, natural calamities also wreaked havoc in East Pakistan, cyclones displaced millions of people and millions lost their lives. A cyclone hit East Pakistan on 12 November 1970. It destroyed an area of 8,000 square miles. It was the first natural disaster in the region in centuries. Two and a half lakh people died in it. Yahya Khan was on a visit to China at that time. Arrived in Dhaka from Beijing two days after the storm, stayed overnight, and left for West Pakistan the next day. The neglect of the victims of this cyclone became a major political issue. Opposition newspapers in Dhaka accused the central government of not only not helping but also disrupting the efforts of international relief agencies. The reaction to the lack of help from the central government after the storm created bitter feelings against West Pakistan. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who had been released by then, said, “West Pakistan has had a bumper crop of wheat this year. The wheat that reached us first was not the wheat of West Pakistan. The textile merchants did not send even a yard of cloth to cover our bodies. We have such a large army but the dead Bengalis were buried by the British soldiers. And then a clear threat, "The time is coming when in every village, home, and town the thought is being created that we have to govern ourselves." We have to make our own decisions. We cannot remain at the mercy of the bureaucrats, capitalists, and landlords of West Pakistan. This is the situation in Balochistan today. Like East Pakistan, Balochistan is also in turmoil. But in order to suppress the opposition, the government is arresting its workers and charging them with false cases.

The province of Balochistan has been the most affected by the recent rains and floods

34 districts and more than 360 thousand people have been affected by floods. According to NDMA, 225 deaths had occurred in Balochistan till August 18. . Talking about the infrastructure damaged by floods in Balochistan, according to the Natural Disasters Agency, 26 thousand houses, 710 km long highways, 18 bridges, and more than five lakh cattle were affected. According to the officials, the national highway in the Rabi area of Naseerabad is completely under water and the land route of Quetta is disconnected from the Sukkur national highway. Monsoon ravages continue in Pakistan's Balochistan province. Torrential rain for eight to 10 hours continuously affected the districts of Musakhel, Barkhan, and Kohlu in the areas adjacent to Mount Sulaiman. Deputy Commissioner Musa Khel Yasir Dashti said that there was continuous and torrential rain for eight to 10 hours in the Sulaiman mountain range yesterday due to which the water coming from the mountains turned towards the population in the form of rails. But the government and the opposition are fighting each other and neither of them is ready to do welfare work.

On the other hand, despite this torrential rain, terrorist elements are active in Balochistan and various nationalist parties are with these insurgent elements. The insurgents do not want to miss any opportunity to harm the security forces. The history of insurgency in Balochistan is very old, India had laid the foundation of conflicts here since the creation of Pakistan and the spark that India had created was created by the Pakistani establishment, from Ghulam Muhammad to Pervez Musharraf, everyone has ignited this fire. But he poured oil and did not let this burning fire go out. Asif Ali Zardari of the People's Party wanted to give Balochistan a rights package as President of Pakistan, but he failed. In all the civil and military periods, the reign of General Zia-ul-Haq was a period of peace for Balochistan. When he came to power, he ended the ongoing operation in Balochistan and announced amnesty there, but he did not start any big project for the welfare of Balochistan. General (Rtd) Rahimuddin passed away recently. He was the governor of Balochistan from 1978 to 1984, and his tenure as governor was the longest. He announced an amnesty in Balochistan and stopped military operations in the province. By going to the fugitive rebels and announcing reparations for the victims, General Rahim succeeded in crushing the rebellion by 1980.

Need a similar strategy today? War and operations make things worse. For the establishment of peace, it is necessary that the local population gains the confidence of the security forces, for this the recruitment of local people in the security forces is a requirement of expediency. It is also our suggestion to train and recruit Makran people in the Pakistan Navy to monitor the coastal areas of Balochistan. They know the sea very well. The sea is their friend. They also realize the changes taking place in time if they are given a chance to join the Navy, they will also get a chance to protect the motherland. It is better that recruitment in Pakistan's security forces should not be limited to one province, the youth of all provinces should be given equal opportunity.

This is a huge complaint that needs to be addressed. This shortcoming or weakness is presented by the enemy in another way, which results in increasing the feeling of deprivation in Balochistan and other provinces. On the other hand, foreign broadcasting organizations present this feeling of deprivation in the form of hostility. While security forces treat disgruntled citizens of their own country as rebels by treating them as enemies. This inherited British colonial attitude has to be changed, this mastery attitude has to be changed and for the sake of the survival of Pakistan, a road and rail system have to be spread throughout Balochistan, and hotels and restaurants have to be built in the entertainment places there and for this local Provide capital to the population federal and provincial governments. So that there are maximum employment opportunities for them because to heal the deep wounds some kind of ointment has to be applied.
